Ah, so you wish to take a peek upon the mighty Ragnar Lothbrok. What are you called? Guest, is it? Well, I bid you welcome on your journey onward.. just watch your back.

Name:
Ragnar Lothbrok.

Name Meaning:
In norse, Ragnar means - warrior from the gods

Answers to:
He prefers Ragnar but he won't object if you call him like My Lord, Lord Ragnar, Fólkhagi

Age:
2.5 years of age

Gender:
Masculine

Native Tongue/Accent:
Norwegian

Rank And Pack:
Anundr Fólkhagi

Appearance:
Well, there's a giant reference up top. But if you haven't noticed, Ragnar is normal height, neither short nor extremely tall, he is but average. He is lean, and robust, with hard muscles visibly pulsing from beneath his coat, which is a whole mixture of brownish red timber mixed in with layers of cream and black to make a rather nice coat. The most striking of all, however, are his eyes. So incredibly blue. To say that his eyes were blue was like saying that the sun was yellow. Sufficient but not accurate to capture the burning.

Temperament:
A Warrior - Ragnar is a fearless and vehement warrior. In battle, Ragnar is swift and ferocious, and his blows carry incredible force behind them which allows him to defeat a great deal of wolves in battle. His speed and strength are such that he is able to defeat multiple foes at a time, and his fortitude is such that he can endure a great deal of punishment and yet fight on through sheer will, and that he never hesitates. Ever. Especially when he starts to kill someone - he finishes it, period.

Patient - Ragnar's the opposite of a hothead in that he doesn't really have a temper, and because he's confident (perhaps too confident) nothing fazes him enough to lash back in a fit of rage. he's more than willing to wait any length of time necessary in order to achieve what has to be done, or achieve what he believes has to be done.

Confident/Natural Leader - Ragnar's a confident wolf, that's all there is to it. He has a certain magnetic charisma about him that draws others to him, because he knows not the meaning of shy or awkward. Everyone has doubts, and he has them, he just never lets them leave his train of thought - for when he speaks, he is always certain of what he says and how he says it and there's no room for error.

Curious - One of the main things that drives Ragnar is his deep seated craving for knowledge. He likes to wonder and think, and he sees the unknown as opportunity rather than forbidden. if someone said no one was allowed to go in a certain area, he'd ask why, and if that answer was vague or not sufficient enough an answer he'd go find answers himself.

Teaser - Referencing back to his astounding patience that was mentioned a little earlier and impressive intellect mentioned after this, there's just the simple face that although Ragnar knows when to be serious, he also has a habit of pushing people's buttons. He rarely laughs, if ever, but he likes to tease and the most that will ever come out of him is either a smirk or a rugged smile.

Clever - This is a clever bloke if you've ever seen one. Because of his patience to think about things and wonder, he catches onto scenarios and new ideas very quickly, and is one of those people that always knows what to do and what to say. And although he is ruthless in battle, he intertwines this ruthlessness with his mind and uses everything he can around him in order to protect whatever he has to protect or fight. He also is known for tricking wolves into revealing their true fealties or where their hearts lie.

Loyal and True- He will not betray those that he has allied with or become friends with, and he is deeply protective of his friend's lives, and to harm them is to invite his vengeance. Another strange quality about a wolf like Ragnar, is that he never often holds grudges, and tends to see the good in everyone, unless they've done something unforgivable.

History:
Rollo and Ragnar Lothbrok had rather.. unorthodox parents. Their father, was a male brute named Bjorg Lothbrok(pronounced as BE - YORG, appearance link - http://www.dawnthieves.de/Member/Kati/Pictures/Wolf/Nordh/2012/Wolf_Ol1206-Rom-20.jpg ) and a female lass named Brynja (appearance link - http://www.dawnthieves.de/Member/Kati/Pictures/Wolf/Luene/2014/Timber/Wolf_LuenT1401-Ole-23.jpg ). Bjorg was a large male, not quite as large as Rollo would get, but large and muscular, with muscles rippling with every move he made. Brynja was no different only in a female body. Therefore, her body was leaner and less robust, but she was thin and firm, with a very strong body. They were seen as a power couple, for they were both as tough as nails, and at the time they had lived in Western Norway. When they had their first litter of puppies, they found it strange that only two came out as opposed to the usual four or five, but they were happy nonetheless. They had named the oldest and biggest male Rollo, for obvious reasons being as how it's meaning was wolf, and they named the slightly smaller male Ragnar. And the reason for that, was because firstly they were astounded by the youngest pup's eyes. They had never seen a color that astonishingly blue before, not even in the sky above them on a cloudless day. It was for that, they they named him Ragnar, for the name means in norse - warrior from the gods, and they believed that this (hypothetical scientific mutation, but they didn't know that) was a sign from their ancestors, and that he was destined for something special. Whether it be greatness or otherwise, they didn't know, but they named him for being a warrior in response to their customs and mannerisms, which I will explain in a moment.

Now, Brynja and Bjorg Lothbrok were very barbarous to say the least. They were very violent in their fighting styles, fear having been erased from their vocabularies and any morals about death were basically nonexistent, for they treated killing a wolf as though it were nothing more than hunting a rabid skunk. Inconvenient, but necessary. In other words, take two stranger wolves. One kills the other, that wolf may go through stages such as regret, depression, etcetera at truly grasping what they had done. Brynja and Bjorg, however, would shrug and say "It is only death," and walk off.

Putting this into how the Lothbrok brothers were raised, it can be explained why they became seasoned warriors as adults. Since they started walking, it was drilled into them - never let fear conquer you, never show mercy in a true fight, and above all: Never. Hesitate. Ever. Whereas in normal border skirmishes - which were quite often in their area of Norway, about once or twice per week - normal adults would send their pups to the den. Brynja and Bjorg would bring the pups with them - sometimes forcibly when they were tired - to sit and watch on the sidelines. In this, the brothers were desensitized to death and fighting and started to become familiar with the interior of the body due to how much of it would come spilling out in a fight - always the enemy's of course, never their parents.

Back to the brothers, Rollo was the biggest and was stronger than Ragnar, physically. He was all action and impulse, whereas Ragnar was more of a thinker - although he was still just as eager about fighting as Rollo, and just as fierce. They were partners in crime as young pups, with Ragnar often asking Rollo if he wanted to go explore, and with them rapidly going off together. They would spar and practice fight quite often, to which their parents would criticize them and correct their mistakes, and it was established early that Ragnar was the more dominant one. It wasn't white and black, on the contrary - it was very grey and it would take a bit of thinking, but there it was Ragnar in that there was just a slight difference and how their relationship was.

Although Rollo shortly realized in early pup hood how different he was treated from his little brother. They were both the couple's offspring and were loved (tough love), Rollo was always somehow inadequate when it came to his accomplishments. For example, when Rollo caught his first mouse, Bjorg and Brynja congratulated him and moved on. The following day, Ragnar had caught a rabbit, and the parents were wired with excitement and were thrilled, constantly telling him he had done a fantastic job throughout the next few days, completely unintentionally overshadowing Rollo completely. It happened with everything, and the oldest pup grew a festering jealousy for his little brother. He hated anyone that mentioned and anything that had to do with the mention of his eyes and their color. It was an undercurrent of everything he thought and felt - and it never went away, and at some points he even hated Ragnar. But they were brothers, and they did love each other and backed each other up. And Ragnar, strangely, always oblivious to his brother's feelings about him. He loved Rollo as his brother, and for that he had never once thought of him as being anything less than his 100% trustworthy and loyal brother.

Telling all that, their childhood went as smoothly as it could go, being a Lothbrok. Rollo was impulsive and impatient, all about do now think later, and his observant and awareness was astounding. He never missed a beat, and he noticed everything that went on around him. Ragnar was the inquisitive one, always wondering and exploring and asking questions that even his parents didn't know the answer too sometimes. Some pups grew out of it, but for Ragnar it seemed to intensify, for he never got enough knowledge. Rollo strongly believed that if Ragnar was offered all the knowledge in all the world in exchange for his eyes, legs, and tail, he would do it in a heartbeat. Coming with that, he was patient, and was never one to go in a fit of rage, unless either in a fight or someone close to him was threatened.

Fast forward to when they were two years old. When they dispersed, they decided to travel together, because they had spent almost every waking moment together so far and they weren't going to change that now, so they went off together. It was in this, that Rollo's jealousy seemed to increase tenfold, for he figured that it was just his parents that had favored Ragnar and when they left it would be different. But no. Every pack and every dispersal they had come across, they looked to Ragnar out of the two of them and recognized him as the better one. Rollo was just the henchmen, he would often think of himself bitterly.
Now, when they traveled, Ragnar had a tendency of taking the lead. He never thought about it, he just did it and it happened and it was always programmed into his DNA. Rollo was bitter about his natural leading ability and constant need to say what they both did, no matter how logical all of Ragnar's decisions were, Rollo was still bitter about it, and he constantly dogged his little brother and reminded him that they were supposed to be equals. Ragnar would agree, but then he would go back to instinctively doing the same thing. They had a lot of great memories, yeah, and they backed each other up and fought side by side for their entire lives and had many a happy memories.

It was when they reached this one pack, called the Arvid Pack, that that all changed. They got there, they were accepted in, and behold came a female named Aslaug. She was the definition of divine beauty, and Rollo immediately fell in love with her. Ragnar had thought of her as beautiful, yes, and she was confident and strong but he was curious about her. Aslaug was a devious, two-faced little broad - according to Ragnar, which was the truth - and he found her out quick. She put on a mask for them, acting flirty and welcoming and warm, and Rollo fell for it, but in actuality - she cared for no one but herself. She was only leading Rollo on so that he would help her lead her pack - parents and siblings included - to death off a cliff to inherit their rich and awe-worthy land, and to push Rollo off herself after falsely promising him that they would share it and become mates. She was the only one that had ever treated Rollo like he was the best and only one there ever was, much more than Ragnar, so of course he fell in love with her.

She detested Ragnar. Hate. Hostility. Loathing. Every hateful word under the sun could be described for Aslaug's feelings for Ragnar, but she couldn't kill him because he was Rollo's brother and he would never go along with her plan if he was dead. He found out her plans relatively quickly, and every time he tried to warn his older brother about them he would claim him jealous, and would go into a fit of rage, often yelling and screaming at him about how wrong he was and that he couldn't handle it because for once someone loved Rollo and not him, and everything along those lines.

This continued for a while, and eventually Ragnar gave up trying to convince Rollo, but still kept a watchful, piercing blue eye on her at all times. One day, he had followed her when she went out hunting, and began to get extremely suspicious when she had gone way farther than necessary, and then all of a sudden, Aslaug ambushed him in the forest that was conveniently next to a rather large cliff. She went for his head first, and knocked it against a tree so that he wouldn't be on the top of his game and would give her the advantage because let's be honest, Aslaug would get annihilated if Ragnar wasn't dizzy and woozy in the head. Her aim was to kill him, and after they fought - with her gaining some rather bloody injuries, she lunged at Ragnar, fully intending to push him off, but lucky for him he had managed to duck and she ended up plunging off herself, falling on a ledge a while down and losing her life on impact.

When Rollo found them a few moments later, he saw her corpse on the ledge further down the cliff, he knew Ragnar had done it, even though the truth was that Ragnar didn't. He was only trying to protect him, Ragnar said to Rollo, but he would have none of it. From that moment on, something in Rollo snapped, and he was hell set on revenge. They hated each other from then on, for Rollo being so close minded and not seeing the truth, although he mostly felt resentful and sad but even more Rollo for Ragnar killing the love of his life, and for being everything he was. All the jealousy, all the pent up rage, was poured out.

And thus they both separated, but soon collided paths.

And thus was born the Anundr and the Volundr.
